This instrument was serviced by one of the most experienced and well respected Fairlight specialist worldwide :
Mr. Alexander Guelfenburg from Virtual Music. He has been doing CMI Fairlights service for about 20 years. He has repaired, serviced and upgraded many Fairlights from all around the world.

He did an amazing job on this instrument and invested a lot of hours to make this Fairlight IIX one of the finest and probably only specimen available for sale on the worldwide market today.

We are very proud to offer this legendary instrument and we are sure that the future owner of this beauty will be very happy with it for many years.

Oberheim Fourvoice FVS 1

June 5th, 2014

Up for sale is the Oberheim FVS 1 Synthesizer from 1977. The Oberheim 4 voice is a very impressive analog synth that was developed based on the Oberheim SEM stand alone synthmodules. Oberheim made the 4 Voice from around 1975 to 1979. The 4 voice is a massive sounding synth with a huge analog polyphonic sound. It has an amazing multimode filter that always sounds great. Playing this synth and panning the voices in stereo sending thru a Mutron Bipahse or other nice stereo effect is just incredible ! In unisono mode you’ll hear a bass sound thats not from this planet. 4 independent LFO’s + one master LFO for pitch, 8 Oscillators, 4 multimode Filters, …. everything you need. The Fourvoice we have for sale is in great condition and plays great. It has some normal age related wear, a few little scratches in the tolex, nothing dramatic. We won’t retolex this synth cause the tolex is still in nice shape and a little bit of patina suits the unit well. All pots and switches work as they should and the unit is exactly calibrated to factory specs. The unit stays in tune and the keyboard is not worn out. It’s a pleasure to play this synth and probably a great investment that will keep it’s value. The unit works under 110V but we can upgrade it to 220V if this is preferred by the new owner. The unit has mini-jack CV / Gate inputs on the front panel, just above each SEM voice.

May 6th, 2014

Up for sale is the rare Korg PS 3200 Synthesizer from 1978.
The PS 3X00 series from Korg was made for the professional market and most of the units were sold to well known artists.
There are not many around for sale these days so here is the rare chance to get hold of a specimen in excellent fully refurbished and overhauled condition.

We decided to leave the panels as they are cause we think it is better to leave it original.

The difference after the service was quite impressive and we can say that the PS 3200 is one of the best sounding analog synths around.

Elka Synthex

September 24th, 2013

Up for sale is the mighty Elka Synthex polyphonic analog synthesizer.
This is a gigantic eight-voice synth from the early eighties with
a great user interface design, an unbelievable sound and lots of possibilities.
With it’s heavy-weight keyboard (better than a e.g. Jupiter 8, OB-X) it’s a real joy to play.
Aside from that it’s built like a tank.

Like other big polyphonic synthesizers it has standard features
like 2 DCO’s, 2 LFO’s, 3 mode chorus, etc.
But there are also some very unique specials on board:

  • A multimode filter (HP, LP, BP 1&2)
  • LFO routing to VCF, VCA, PW 1&2, OSC A&B, OSC B ring modulator & sync
  • Super versatile joystick (can be combined with DCO, VCF, LFO2, etc.)
  • Mono/stereo mode (panned-detuning)
  • An internal sequencer (polyphonic mode, transpondable, note length, step & realtime)
  • 40 factory presets, 40 re-writeable patches
  • A Glide / Portamento which can be set independent on e.g. OSC B
  • A splitable keyboard and many other cool things!

About 1600 were built by Elka and this one was probably
built around 1983.

The Synthex is in superb shape, very clean in & outside and has factory Midi installed.
Only the wooden side panels are new high quality custom made.

They are made with walnut and look much better than the original side panels.

The unit is fully checked and serviced. Power supply recapped and contact service on all pots and switches.

Oberheim OB-X 8 Voice

August 14th, 2012

Up for sale is another great Oberheim OB-X 8 Voice analog synthesizer from 1979.
One of our personal favorite synthesizers here at Wavemeister.

The OB-X has so much life and character, not comparable to any new hardware/ software available at the moment.
This synth blows away a lot of vintage and modern synths …. it is huge in dimensions and sound.
In unison mode you will hear 16 (!) analog oscillators and 8 discrete analog filters, stereo !

The OB-X was developed by Tom Oberheim right after the fabulous 8 and 4 Voice SEM systems.
The raw sound of the early SEM is still alive in this beautiful synthesizer.

This instrument has been originally bought at the legendary Synthesizer Studio Bonn and is part of the private collection of one of the Wavemeister founders.

It is in very good condition with very little wear.
No mods or heavy repairs, all voicecards are original and untouched.
The original tantalum caps are still inside the PSU and will be replaced with electrolyte caps.
The unit is fully working and absolutely great sounding.
